The Most Frequently Asked Questions About the VDC
What is a Virtual Data Center?

A VDC is a complete, dedicated virtualized infrastructure environment for your organization: computing (vCPUs, RAM), SSD storage, and networking (firewall, VLANs, CDN)—all manageable from your own vSphere console. It is the equivalent of a private data center, built on Wavenet’s Tier III-certified infrastructure in Argentina.

What does Tier III certification mean?

The Uptime Institute's Tier III certification guarantees 99.982% availability (less than 1.6 hours of downtime per year), with N+1 redundancy for power, cooling, and connectivity. Maintenance is performed without interrupting operations. This is the standard for banks and mission-critical organizations.

Does it include Kubernetes?

Yes. Native Kubernetes is included for orchestrating containers without requiring additional infrastructure. You can deploy Docker/Kubernetes applications directly on the vSphere environment, without needing a separate cluster.

What is the difference between a VDC and a dedicated server?

A dedicated server (XServer) provides you with a server that has fixed resources. The VDC gives you an entire virtual data center: you can create multiple VMs, set up private networks between them, apply data center-wide firewall policies, and use Kubernetes. It’s designed for organizations that manage multiple workloads and require isolation and total control.

Is your infrastructure unable to keep up with your operations?

Talk to a Wavenet expert. We'll assess your current environment and design the VDC your organization needs.
